The serene village of Nova Cherna is located 40 km northeast from the city of Ruse in the Tutrakan municipality at around 100 kilometers from the Bucharest airport. The village has very well developed infrastructure. Just for kilometers to the North is the Danube river. The village has an interesting history as it was established by Romanian immigrants in the second quarter of the last century.
Near the village, there is the famous reserve Brashlen-Kalimok, along with the Kalimok environmental research facility. The ancient Roman Castle – Kaleto is also situated in the vicinity.
The village is an annual host of the Off-Road Nova Cherna truck 2 day competition. The annual fair is celebrated on May 24th.
